The Big 12 has a trio of new head football coaches and a few new starting quarterbacks. Only Oklahoma has both. Home run lifts Jaguars over Millers 7-5

A four-run outburst led Westmoore to a 7-5 win over Yukon Wednesday evening. The Millers had taken a 5-3 lead after scoring three runs in the fourth and two in the fifth only to see the Jaguar’s Connor Cavner hit a key three-run homer to swing momentum to Westmoore.

Cross-country programs hosting 5K

Redlands Community College and El Reno Public Schools will host a 5K fun run to benefit the cross-country programs. The Twister Trek 5K will be held at 10 a.m., April 2, at El Reno’s Memorial Stadium.

NCAA DII pole vaulting champion

Turner named athlete of the year

Freshman Olivia Lueking and redshirt junior Vernon Turner were named the 2022 USTFCCCA DI Midwest Region Field Athletes of the Year, the association announced Thursday. Turner became the first Sooner to win the NCAA Indoor High Jump national championship last week, clearing a season-best 7-7.25 (2.32m) at the championship.
