This is my favorite time of the year! The winter weather is finally starting to move on, outdoor activities ramp up, and I get to cultivate hot peppers and other vegetables in my garden. While I love all of that, to me the best part of spring is “March Madness,” with the different college basketball teams vying for the chance to win a national championship.

If one deliberately tried to devise a U.S. energy policy that would harm national interests and working families alike, it would look a lot like the Biden administration’s current policy.

One of the best things I have seen posted on Facebook resurfaced several weeks ago. I may be old, but I got to see all the cool bands.

In John Steinbeck’s classic novel, The Grapes of Wrath, the Joad family finally reaches the end of its rope. Setback after setback, loss of their livelihood, and finally, loss of their land force the Joads to reluctantly leave the only home they have ever known for the promised land of California. Oklahoma proves to be as indifferent to their absence as it had been to their presence. The Joads quietly leave everything they have ever known behind, but as backward and misunderstood as they and the countless other Okies were, they never lose their dignity. They never once presumed the world around them would bend to their needs.

Oh, my, Yukon. Where has the time gone? Such a fleeting thing, that time.

Everyone is joining me in trying to adjust to the time change last weekend. For me it’s always a couple weeks struggle every spring and every fall.
