The Mustang boys soccer team took on Deer Creek March 10 in a game that had to be played earlier, due to incoming weather issues.

Despite that, the contest had to be called at halftime when the windchill dropped. Because Mustang High School was trailing 1-0 at the time, they picked up the loss.

Two days earlier, the Broncos found themselves in another tough match against Norman High. Their matchup had to be decided on penalty kicks after the teams maintained a 1-1 tie through regulation.

The Tigers earned the 2-1 victory.

Mustang’s lone goal in regulation came courtesy of Aiden Jordan.

Through six games, the Broncos have a 2-4 record.

MHS will not take the field again until March 22 when they travel to Enid.

The Mustang girls ended a two game losing streak after beating Norman High 3-2 March 8.

The Lady Broncos will also not play again until March 22 at Enid.

Softball loses to Choctaw

The defending state slowpitch softball champions have had to deal with bad weather to start the season. Games against Harrah and Minco both had to be canceled, due to weather.

The one game the Lady Broncos were able to get in came March 8. Unfortunately for MHS, they fell 27-4 to Choctaw. Mustang is scheduled to face Elgin on March 21 at home.

MHS at Edmond Memorial

While most of the other Mustang teams will be off for spring break, the MHS baseball team will be on the grind at the Edmond Memorial Festival.

The Broncos will jump into action Thursday when they take on Okatha (2A) at 5 p.m. They will then face Kingfisher (4A) Friday at 5:30 p.m. The final game of the festival will be Saturday against Lookeba-Sickles (B) at 10 a.m.

The Broncos return to action March 21 when they travel to Norman North. The Timberwolves will come to MHS the next day March 22. Both games will be played at 5 p.m.
