Shirley Ann (Golden) Austin, 68, of Yukon, Oklahoma passed away Dec. 21 at her home.

She was born Aug. 23, 1953 in Sherman, Texas to Windle and LaVerne Golden. Before retiring, she worked as a media specialist at Mustang Middle School for many years, and U. S. Grant High School before that. She was a member of the South Yukon Church of Christ. Shirley never met a stranger, and made friends wherever she went whether it was visiting her mother at Ranchwood Nursing Home or servers at favorite restaurants.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Milton A. “Andy” Austin, Jr., grandson Milton Andrew Austin IV, and brother-in-law Peter Signer.

She is survived by her son Milton A. “Drew” Austin III and wife Heidi, son Christopher L. Austin of Yukon, Oklahoma, sister Linda (Golden) Signer, grandson Zachary Austin, and best friend Larry Holman.

A public viewing and visitation will be held at 4 p.m. on Dec. 29 at Ingram, Smith and Turner in Yukon.

The funeral service is private due to the pandemic. She will be buried at Frisco Cemetery near Yukon.
