Melva June Weaver passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, March 7, 2022 at OU Medical Health Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Melva was born on Oct. 10, 1937 in El Reno, Oklahoma to her parents June and Melvin Crump, with her little brother, Melvin Crump Jr, to follow 10 years later.

Melva married her high school sweetheart, Jimmy E. Weaver in 1955. Jimmy and Melva went on to have three children-Gayle, Steve, and Gary.

Melva was always her children’s number one fan, never missing a game, match or show, rooting them on in life until the very end.

She was also a great business woman–starting out as a secretary, then opening United Pharmacy with her husband Jim. That was followed by a construction company and a nursing home.

Along with running the businesses, she was a Sunday School teacher for 30 years at First Baptist Church of Yukon. She had a passion for animals, gardening, and playing bridge with her close group of friends. She was also a wonderful grandmother to her grandsons, Matt Ennis, Bryan Weaver, Brett Weaver and Sean Ennis. The entire family enjoyed their yearly trips to Galveston Beach where many memories were made. Melva will be deeply missed by all of those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and June Crump, and son, Gary Weaver.

Melva is survived by her husband, Jimmy “Jim” Weaver; children, Gayle Weaver-Ennis and partner Gib Miles and Steve Weaver and his wife Diane; grandchildren: Matt Ennis and his wife Traci, Bryan Weaver and wife Lynsey, Brett Weaver, and Sean Ennis and his wife Carly, and great-grandchildren: Bayler Weaver, Steeler Ennis, Ames Ennis, Braxton Weaver, Brooks Weaver, Emma Ennis, and Ezra Ennis.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2022 at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 12, at First Baptist Church, Yukon, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
