Donn Herbert Bennyhoff, age 94, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2021.

He was born June 30, 1927, in Fayette, Illinois to Fred and Frieda (Smithson) Bennyhoff.

He graduated from Brownstown Community High school before joining the United States Navy.

After Donn returned from the Navy, he married his high school sweetheart Virginia “Sue” Purcell on April 5th, 1947, in a preacher’s home in Brownstown, Illinois.

They lived in a duplex in St. Elmo, Illinois., for a brief time.

They moved to Woodward, Oklahoma where he went to work for OG&E, retiring in 1987 after 39 years and four months.

He was a member of Lakehoma Church of Christ in Mustang, Oklahoma.

Donn enjoyed woodworking and antiquing with his wife Sue. He was adored by his kids and grandkids.

Donn was preceded in death by his wife Virginia “Sue” (2003), his parents, two brothers, Earl and LaRue and sister Grace Haynes.

Donn is survived by his four children: Jane Wilcoxson of Woodward, Jeff Bennyhoff and wife Sharon of Florida, Judy White and husband Richard of Woodward and Gerri Lindsey and husband Randy of Seneca, Mo. One sister, Joyce Black of Vandalia, Illinois, 13 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Donn loved his family and friends.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at Lakehoma Church of Christ with interment to follow at the Mustang Cemetery, Mustang, Oklahoma.
