Yukon ex-coach accused of rape

A former Yukon High School assistant coach and history teacher is facing charges after being accused of having a sexual relationship with one of her former students.
Elizabeth Nicole Lenaburg was charged Monday in Oklahoma County District Court with second-degree rape, oral sodomy and two counts of lewd acts with a minor..
A warrant for her arrest was issued Monday, according to court records.
Lenaburg, 24, was a first-year teacher at Yukon High School, where she served as a history teacher. She also worked as an assistant coach for both the softball and basketball programs.
According to a police report provided by the Oklahoma City Police Department, the victim, who is 15, was one of her players.
At the time the relationship began, the report says the victim was 14.
According to the police report, the two had flirted during last fall, but nothing had come of the relationship. However, on May 24 the two saw one another, by chance, at a concert in Oklahoma City.
After that, they began chatting through social media applications. That eventually led to a sexual relationship.
According to the police report, the teenager told police that she and Lenaburg had sexual contact at least eight times between the time she turned 15 and when police were notified.
The incidents occurred at a hotel in Bethany as well as at various Airbnbs in Oklahoma City, the report shows.
A victim’s protective order was issued in Canadian County against Lenaburg on Sept. 9, court records show.
Lenaburg was hired by the Yukon School District in August 2018, according to school officials.
The district was notified about suspicious activity involving Lenaburg on Jan. 15, at which time an internal investigation was begun.
Lenaburg was suspended by the district on Jan. 16, and she resigned Feb. 6.
According to her resume, Lenaburg was a graduate of Southwestern Christian University with a bachelor of science degree in history education.
Her resume also indicates that she received her teaching certification in December 2017.
Her resume states that she was employed at Hinton Elementary School from August 2013 through August 2018 .
She also practice-taught at Yukon High School from August 2016 to December 2016 and at Bethany Middle School from January 2016 until May 2016.
Lenaburg had not been arrested as of Tuesday morning, according to officials at the Oklahoma County jail.
