Yukon improved to 9-4 on the season with a perfect 6-0 record and tournament championship at Carl Albert last weekend.
The Miller volleyball team played four pool-play matches and two matches in bracket-play. Yukon defeated Shawnee in the championship match 25-16 and 25-14.
“It was great to go undefeated for the day,” Yukon coach Rachel Allred said. “The girls showed a lot of determination and perseverance and really played well. Our defense continues to get better and we were smart and efficient on offense. It was a great tournament win to lead us into a long week of matches.”
Miller libero Catherine Birkhead was named to the All-Tournament team and had the most digs for the day among any other player in the tournament and also had one of the top passer ratings.
The top hitters from Yukon for the tournament were Mallory Scott, Brianna Worth and Rachel Kittell. Haylee Fowler led the team in assists and Sidney Benge, Chloe Hartman and Fowler lead the Millers in aces.
In their four pool-play matches, the Millers faced Midwest City, Berryhill, Shawnee and Noble. Yukon defeated Midwest City 25-16 and 25-14, Berryhill 25-16 and 25-11, Shawnee 25-14 and 25-23 and Noble 25-6 and 25-17.
The Millers played at Piedmont Monday evening and hosted Moore on Tuesday and they will host Choctaw at 6 p.m. Thursday.
