Yukon stayed perfect on the season in softball with a 6-0 record and a championship in the Broken Arrow tournament last weekend.
The Millers were supposed to play at Broken Arrow two weeks ago but inclement weather postponed the tournament two weeks.
Yukon dominated the tournament with wins over Owasso, Broken Arrow Black, Deer Creek, Hilldale, Broken Bow and Broken Arrow in the championship game.
Yukon coach Heather Shanahan said she was pleased with her team’s effort.
“We are playing well right now,” Shanahan said. “We are cruising, working hard and playing well. This is a good group. We are off to a good start, but we know it is still really early and we have a lot of softball to play. This is a very poised group. You can tell they are an experienced, older team.”
The Millers play on the road all week this week. They played at Norman North Tuesday, at Lawton in a make-up game at 6:30 today and at Putnam City at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
