Yukon and Mustang meet on the gridiron at 7 p.m. Friday but the cross country teams met at Wild Horse Park Monday afternoon for the annual Yukon-Mustang cross country dual.
The Broncos won the dual but it was Yukon’s first time competing against another team this season.
“It was good to run against another school,” Yukon coach Matt Parent said. “It was our first time to really get in race mode. It’s just part of the process.”
Yukon senior No. 1 boys runner Elijah Ankrom said he is expects a lot from this group this year.
“I expect us to go out and give great effort,” Ankrom said. “I expect us to qualify for the state meet for the 11th straight year.”
