Yukon basketball: Millers compete at OU Team Camp

The Yukon boys basketball team attended the OU Team Camp last week and played a total of seven games in the event.

The Millers had a record of 3-4 and went 3-3 in the pool play games with wins over Lawton Ike, Shelton (Texas) and Frienship (Texas). They lost in pool play against Union and Flower Mound (Texas).

Yukon fell to Broken Arrow in the first round of the tournament session.

There were more than 90 teams at the camp combined in all three levels. There were 26 high school teams that participated.

New head coach Kevin Ritter got his first taste as the head coach for the Miller boys basketball program. He said it was an overall positive experience at the OU camp.

“We did some good things and some bad things,” Ritter said. “I thought we competed well and played hard. We learned a lot about ourselves and what we need to work on going into fall practice. We can build off this and get better going forward.”

Yukon has a couple more weeks with their summer league in Edmond and then they will begin workouts in July with open gym in the evenings.
