Mustang man jailed after online conversation

An 18-year-old Mustang man is being held on $100,000 bail after being arrested on accusations that he made sexual contact online with what he thought was an 11-year-old Mustang boy.
Kyle Henthorn is being held in the Canadian County jail on accusations of lewd acts with a child and violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.
According to a news release from Canadian County Sheriff Chris West, Henthorn was arrested Thursday after he admitted to investigators that he had an inappropriate conversation.
West said Henthorn, who is a student at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, began communicating with what he thought was an 11 year old in April. West said the boy was actually 13 pretending to be 11.
At some point, West said, the teen tried to leave the conversation. However, Henthorn begged him to keep talking.
“Kyle Henthorn would not take no for an answer. He kept pushing this child to keep talking and want to show this underage child various sexual acts,” West said.
Henthorn allowed investigators to search his cell phone, West said. That search allegedly revealed a number of conversations with underage children throughout the United States.
“We are still figuring out just how many victims this man has. Kyle Henthorn has attempted to victimize numerous children on social media. We are going to figure out how many (victims) and how many more charges we are going to send over for prosecution,” West said.
