Looking for a job? Good with your hands? Mechanically inclined? Punctual? Know how to follow assignments?

Paul Hostetler could probably use you.

Hostetler is the owner of Honest 1 Automotive, 539 S. Mustang Road, and is gearing up his staff for the summer driving season.

Hostetler’s shop, which is part of a nationwide chain, has been open on Mustang Road for about two years. He said much of his business involves oil changes and lube work, but he is staffed to do most mechanical work on vehicles.

That’s why he’s looking to expand his crew, which now includes about eight mechanics ranging from those at the beginning of their careers to those who are master mechanics that are ASE certified.

“We are a full-service shop,” he said.

And while they can do some specialty work, that is not their niche. That would be routine maintenance work.

Taking care of general maintenance, the routine work, he said, will save car owners lots of money because they are less likely to face major repairs.

“Don’t ignore the small stuff,” he said.

“If you take care of the maintenance, you won’t end up spending $3,500 to replace a transmission,” Hostetler said.

He also pointed out that now is the time to get your coolant system checked. As Oklahoma’s weather heats up, air conditioning systems will be a high priority.

“If you follow the maintenance rules, you will be much better off,” he said.

Hostetler’s shop is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
