Sweets, treats and all the meats!

Plenty of Yukon residents showed up hungry to the Dale Robertson Center Thursday night, but left with full stomachs and smiles on their faces.
Yukon’s 18th annual Taste of Yukon was a success.
Taste of Yukon featured different types of food, including cupcakes, bread pudding, fudge, chicken tenders, smoked brisket, hamburgers, macaroni and cheese, sushi, pizza, guacamole, sandwiches and more.
Participants that offered dishes in this year’s Taste of Yukon included Friends of the Park, Yukon Mobile Meals, Sam’s Club, Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler, Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery, Louie’s Bar & Grill, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Tony’s Pizzeria & Gyros, Spanish Cove, CiCi’s Pizza, Sapporo Sushi Bar, Bad Brad’s Bar-B-Q, Alfredo’s Mexican Café, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Wings & Things, Interurban, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Green Chile Kitchen, HogWild BBQ Smokeshack, Truelove’s Longhorn Burgers and Chicken Express. Weokie Credit Union also had a drink station set up.
Winners for Best Food were Green Chile Kitchen and Spanish Cove. Winners for Best Decoration were Smallcakes and Spanish Cove.
Taste of Yukon was organized and hosted by Yukon Parks and Recreation staff and sponsored by Weokie Credit Union, who is the main sponsor every year.
Money raised from the tickets sold at the event help fund many of the City of Yukon’s events, including Freedom Fest and Concerts in the Park.
