Irma LaRee McMurry, age 82, passed away on Dec.8, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born on May 8, 1934 in Ringwood, Oklahoma to Samuel and Helen Shreve Rice. LaRee grew up in the Winfield, Kansas area before marrying Bud Hiatt, starting a family, and moving out of state. She later married Oklahoma sculptor Leonard D. McMurry. She worked for over 30 years as an executive assistant for a real estate and corporate investments company.
LaRee enjoyed reading her Bible and Bill O’Reilly books, watching old movies, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Mustang Heights Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; second husband Leonard McMurry; brother Richard Rice and great grandson Jaxon Martin.
She is survived by two daughters: Janiene Fain and husband Brad of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Sharla Bush and husband Dennis of Mustang; also, a brother, Garland Rice and wife Annie of Derby, Kansas; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and the children and grandchildren of Leonard McMurry.
Funeral services were held Dec. 12 in the Chapel of McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang. Interment followed at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Online condolences may be made at www.mcneilsfuneral.com.
