The top state official in education will be in Yukon next week for a Town Hall.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister is hosting a 6 p.m. Dec. 6 town hall meeting at Yukon High School, 1777 S. Yukon Parkway. The meeting is part of her six series one-hour town halls to hear Oklahomans’ thoughts on how to strengthen public education and refocus on meeting the needs of individual students.
The meeting will be the sixth in a series of one-hour town halls enabling the Oklahoma State Department of Education to gather input as the agency creates a comprehensive state plan to bolster academic performance for all students and reduce barriers that hold many kids back. On Oct. 18, more than 350 people attended the first town hall in Duncan. The final town hall stop will be Dec. 12 in Muskogee.
Dr. Jason Simeroth, superintendent of Yukon Public Schools, will introduce Hofmeister on Tuesday.
