William “Ben” Goins, age 72, died peacefully at his home in Yukon on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016. He was born Feb. 20, 1944 in Poteau to Ben and Dorothy (Hancock) Goins.
He grew up in Poteau and moved to Bethany as a teenager. Ben came to Mustang in the early 1970s where he was active on the Mustang Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He worked at Bendix until 1986 as a machinist; he then worked for Mustang Public Schools and retired doing carpenter work and being a handy man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, “the love of his life,” his wife Madora, and eight sisters: Beulah, Lillian, Aline, Vivian, Louise, Barbara, Greta and Kate.
Survivors include one daughter Roxana Blake and husband Mark of Yukon, two sons Jeff Goins and wife Brandie of Pocasset, Oklahoma and Brad Goins and Jeff Stephens of Henryetta, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Jessica, Joshua and Alex and three great grandchildren: Asher, Landyn and Lucas.
Graveside rites were Nov. 26 at Redhill Cemetery, in Mustang under the direction of McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang. Online condolences may be made at www.mcneilsfuneral.com.
