Mustang’s boys placed first while the girls placed third in a matchup with all three Edmond schools Tuesday at the Mitch Park YMCA.
Led by eight top-5 finishes, Mustang’s boys defeated Edmond Santa Fe, Edmond North and Edmond Memorial.
Jacob Hesse (Sr.), Matt Jensen (Sr.), Zach Boyanton (Jr.) and Lane Brown (Jr.) paced the Broncos, each finishing in the top-5 three times while each racing in four meets.
Hesser, Jensen, Brown and Martin Mayfield (Sr.) finished fourth in the 200-medley relay, Boyanton, Jensen, Brown and Dane Bouse (So.) finished fourth in the 200-freestyle relay and Boyanton, Hesser, Brady Coulter (So.) and Coby Keller (So.) finished fourth in the 400-freestyle relay.
Hesser also finished second in the 100-backstroke and seventh in the 50-freestyle, Brown finished third in the 100-freestyle and sixth in the 50-freestyle, Jensen finished fifth in the 50-freestyle and sixth in the 100-breaststroke and Boyanton finished fifth in the 100-butterfly and eighth in the 200-freestyle.
Mustang’s girls were led by 11 individual top-10 finishes, including one top-5.
Hannah Hamilton (Fr.) led the way with a fourth-place finish in the 100-butterfly as well as a sixth-place finish in the 500-freestyle Tuesday. She also raced on the fifth-place 200-medley and sixth-place 400-freestyle relay teams.
Three other Broncos raced in four events, including Raegan Hilley (So.), Tori Anderson (Sr.) and Mazie Garza (Sr.).
Hilley finished sixth in the 100-butterfly and seventh in the 500-freestyle along with racing in the 200-medley and 400-freestyle relays. Anderson finished ninth in the 100-freestyle and 10th in the 50-freestyle while racing in the 200-medley and 200-freestyle relays. Garza, in her first meet, finished ninth in the 100-backstroke and 11th in the 200-medley while racing on the 200-medley and 200-freestyle relay teams.
Sadie Arwood (Fr.), Rachel Dawson (Jr.) and Dene Saffell (So.) also all finished with at least one top-10 finish.
Mustang’s teams continue their season at Bixby Thursday before heading back to Mitch Park Saturday for the 2016 Yukon Invitational at 9 a.m.
