The Mustang School District will soon finalize a land purchase as part of their long-range plan to expand the high school campus.
On Monday, school board members approved the purchase of 2.7 acres at 525 S. Mustang Road from Larry and Susan Bruce. The district now anticipates closing on the property in the next 10 days with Old Republic.
A house sits on the property but was recently vacated by the renters that resided there a few weeks ago.
The district’s strategy for the land is part of their “long-range plan to acquire properties along Mustang Road,” said Sean McDaniel, superintendent.
“This will allow the district to expand the high school campus and re-create the entrance to the campus.”
The MPS official also reported the district is always interested in considering property that might fit into their plans, including expanding the high school campus.
