Raymond K. Baker, age 81, longtime Mustang area farmer and dirt contractor, died Sept. 18, 2016 at his home on the Baker Farm northeast of Mustang.
He was born Aug. 12, 1935 in Oklahoma City to Ambrose and Gertrude (Weiss) Baker and grew up in Moore. He was a 1955 graduate of Moore High School. He married Betty Engles on Dec. 15, 1956. They lived in Oklahoma City for many years before moving to the farm in 1964. He farmed, ranched and ran the family business, R&B Dirt Construction along with his son Ronnie until his health slowed him down. Raymond had the honor of being the first “Parade Marshall” for Mustang Western Days in 1976.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years Betty and one brother Roy.
He is survived by one son Ronnie and wife Karen of Oklahoma City, one daughter Rayma McReynolds and husband Steve of Mustang; also by three grandchildren: Stevie, Reba and Kallie, one great-grandson Rowdy, one brother Ralph Baker of Moore and one sister Gwendlyn Thomas of Norman.
Services were Sept. 21 in The Chapel of The Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang with interment following in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Wheatland, Oklahoma.
