Search for new police chief winding down
Mustang’s search for a new police chief is narrowing down.
With current chief Chuck Foley set to retire this Saturday, the city has been on the hunt the last two months for the new leader of the police department.
This week, on Wednesday, the interview panel interviewed four final candidates. They were selected from the applicant pool interviewed Aug. 17, City Manager Tim Rooney said.
Serving on the interview panel with Rooney are Fire Chief Carl Hickman, Assistant City Manager Justin Battles and Human Resources Director Laura Anderson. In addition, two law enforcement and administrative professionals from the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas are serving on the panel.
A retirement reception is set for Foley today in the Great Room at Town Center. It will be from 4 to 6 p.m. with special presentations starting at 4:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend to celebrate the chief’s 40 years total in law enforcement, with the last five being here in Mustang.
