Special teams feature Q&A with senior and return specialist Ethan Scott and Yukon Review sports editor Kyle Salomon
Kyle Salomon: How has practice been going so far this preseason?
Ethan Scott: It’s been very different than it was last year. We have been more up tempo and more physical and we are a lot closer as a team this year. It makes everything a whole lot better
KS: Talk about how a big return on special teams can quickly change the momentum in a football game.
ES: It can be a huge impact. I love doing it. Returning kicks has always been one of my favorite things to do. If you are down a touchdown or are tied late in the game, one big play out of the special teams can be huge influence on how the game will end.
KS: What would you like to see the identity of the special teams be this year?
ES: I want teams to have to game plan for our kick return and punt return game. We want teams to be worried when the punt the ball to us.
KS: What will make this season a success in your opinion?
ES: If we keep working as hard as we have been working and if we are playing our best football down the stretch.
