Mustang Athletic Director absent as fall sports season arrives

Mustang Athletic Director Chuck Bailey has been placed on an administrative leave of absence, according to the Mustang Public Schools Superintendent’s office Wednesday.

Neither Superintendent Dr. Sean McDaniel or Bailey were able to comment on the matter after being reached by the Mustang News.

Bailey was hired as Mustang’s athletic director in August 2009, taking over after 26 years in the athletic department at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. He resigned from his post as Senior Associate Athletic Director to take the AD job at Mustang.

Since his arrival, Mustang has reconstructed a majority of its sports facilities, including adding a new event center and wellness center. The school has won six state championships over that span, including boys basketball, softball, pom (twice) and powerlifting (twice).

It is about time!! Terry Long has taken basketball from Mustang bred boys for way too long!!! The whole situation is corrupt!! Asking Mustang parents to invest in the costs but he only plays ‘his’ boys. We are sick of it!!
