Mustang wrestling coach Brian Picklo is competing in a professional jiu-jitsu, submission only match Sept. 10 at a site yet to be determined.

The Pro 11 match and event is being hosted by Fight to Win Promotions who hosts tournaments nationwide. They host both jiu-jitsu tournaments and MMA tournaments.

“I’m knocking off the old cobwebs,” Picklo said of his upcoming match. “I’ve been training for a while now, but with coaching, I’ve also been extremely busy.”

Picklo said the competition is essential to the sport.

“How do you know where you stand if you never test yourself in the sport?” Picklo said. “I’ve been wrestling and doing judo and jiu-jitsu for a long time now and I just enjoy the competition. Plus it gives our wrestlers a chance to get a kick out of watching their coach get out there.”

Picklo will be competing against Patrick Miller at 205 pounds in the Black Belt NOGI division. For more information and for tickets, visit www.cagetix.com/f2w.
