Charlotte Wynell Wisdom Flanagan

Charlotte Flanagan
Charlotte Wynell Wisdom Flanagan born in Loco, Oklahoma on Oct. 19, 1933, died unexpectedly at her home in Salado, Texas and went to be with the Lord on July 3.

From a young age, Charlotte effortlessly played piano by ear publicly. She served as a skilled church pianist most of her life with a virtually unlimited repertoire from memory. In her final week on earth, she led her Sunday School class in a medley of the US Military theme songs. She remained a voracious reader and was curious every day to learn something new. A true artist at heart, Charlotte had a vivid imagination and an appreciation for aesthetics which she expressed thru baking, decor, painting and textile arts of all kinds.

Charlotte worked in the legal field in Texas through the 1960s and 70s and returned to her Oklahoma roots in the 80s to work for the State of Oklahoma. She was appointed secretary of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and served in that role until retirement in the early 2000s. On July 3, 2007, she moved to a new home close to her son’s family in Salado, Texas where she lived nine years to the day. On that day she moved to an eternal home prepared for her.

Charlotte loved God and others with fervor and was an insightful appreciator of people. Her ability to make a person feel important was genuine and affected all who met her. She could laugh with all the fullness of her heart and delighted to tell stories to or about the people she loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ruby and Dewey Wisdom and granddaughter Meredith Mikish as well as her siblings Billy, Kent, Lavaune, and Dolores. Charlotte is survived by her sister Lynda & George Hall, her children: Kellye & Jack Conner of Tulsa, Tim & Cherie Flanagan of Salado, and grandchildren: Timothy & Ryan Flanagan, Megan & Wade Moss of Tulsa, Morgan & Leveon Mambuca of Carlsbad, New Mexico and great grandchildren: Blane, Paige, and Trent along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. July 8 at First Baptist Church Mustang. Internment will be hosted privately at a later date in Loco, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, Charlotte requested memorial gifts be sent to FBC Mustang.
