Rose Mary (Bennett) Griggs, age 81, passed away on June 17 while on vacation in Santa Fe, NM.
She was born Dec. 3, 1934 in Oklahoma City to William and Marie (Brandt) Bennett and grew up in west Oklahoma City.
She was a 1953 graduate of Mustang High School. She had lived on the family farm on West Reno since 1959.
Rosie was a typical farmer’s wife and worked beside her beloved husband Elisha at the family business, Griggs Equipment Co, still running the business after Elisha’s untimely death in 2013.
She was a lifelong Catholic and was now a member of St. John’s Nepomuk congregation in Yukon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elisha and two brothers Freddie and Harold.
Survivors include two sons, Mike and wife Rena of Tuttle, Kenny and wife Holly and one daughter Lesa Calhoun and husband Jimmy of Yukon; also by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the birth of number three.
Mass of Christian Burial will he at 10 a.m. June 24 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon with internment following in Mustang Cemetery under the direction of McNeil’s Funeral Service, Mustang.
