Martha Simmons passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Jan. 30,2022, after a night spent with her close friends and family celebrating her 70th birthday.

Martha is survived by her sister and brother-in-law; Marsha Daniell and Sonny Daniell; her husband, Harry “Pepper” Simmons; her children, Natasha Christine Smotts and Daniel John Gurka; Pepper’s children, Chrystal Casey, Brian Casey, Shelli Lewis, David Lewis Jr., and Donald Simmons; and her grandchildren, Cailey BreAnne Smotts, Ashton Wills, Aaron Abuhl, Jake Philpot, Connor Simmons, and Brooklyn Simmons.

She is predeceased by her parents; Marion “Willy” Smotts, Cleastena Marcia Akers; her brother, Jean Smotts and her sisters Nina Cox, and Mona Smotts.

Martha Simmons was born January 28th, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Marion “Willy” Smotts and Cleastena Marcia Akers.

Martha was a wonderful sister and friend. She loved to swim and water ski.

At an early age she loved playing and fixing hair, her sister Marsha being the subject of her experiments.

She never met a stranger growing up and had a heart for helping others.

She was loved dearly and will be missed until met again in heaven.

Martha Simmons welcomed a daughter, the light of her life, and only child, Natasha Christine Smotts, into the world June 21, 1974. Martha Simmons has been the proud owner of the Best Little Hair House in Yukon, Oklahoma for 26 years, opening it up along side Gina Karnes in 1995.

She met the love of her life, Pepper Simmons and married in 2002.

Together, Martha (baby-doll) and Pepper built a beautiful life full of fun and laughter. They enjoyed the simple blessings in life with great friends and their children and grandchildren alike.

Together they made those simple things rich in laughter.

Martha was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and a treasured friend to many. Martha adored and was so extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. Martha made it a personal mission to ensure people felt their best and treated everyone like family. Martha radiated love and fun everywhere she went. She will be deeply missed by all those touched and loved by her.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am, February 12, 2022, at the Yanda and Son Chapel, 1500 W. Vandament Ave, Yukon, OK 73099. In lieu of flowers, family will be accepting donations to help cover funeral expenses.

A donation basket will be available during services.
